BROULEE BEACH (AUSTRALIA)- The stranded whale on Broulee Beach was worldwide news. More viral went the video shot by one of the bystanders on the rocks who put a camera on his fishing rod and filmed a tiger shark feasting on the sick whale which stranded on the rocks.

The man who daringly went with his GoPro camera in the water with the feasting shark has since been reprimanded by many who have watched the video.

The drama began last week wednesday, when a juvenile humpback was noticed on rocks next to the Broulee beach. The whale died before a rescue could be mounted, and quickly became a magnet for sharks, closing beaches and making some swimmers nervous. There were unconfirmed reports of at least four big sharks in the area.

A surfer dove into the sea to rope the dead whale, timing his dive between shark feeding sessions, so it could be towed away from the popular beach. The carcass was towed out to sea to reduce the shark risk around the shore.

Beaches have been closed for a few days just to be sure.
