Volusia County Beach Patrol reports that a shark got 19-year-old Daniel True on the ankle Friday morning, south of Ponce de Leon Inlet. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that True had been wading in about 4 feet of water.
Officials say True made it back to shore and received medical attention. He then drove himself to the hospital.
Authorities say a 19-year-old surfer was bitten by shark at Crescent Beach earlier in the week.
Shane Lancaster told the St. Augustine Record he felt something bump into his leg while surfing Wednesday morning at the north Florida beach. When he emerged from the water, his left leg was covered in blood.
