HAWAII (USA)- A spearfishermen had a scary encounter underwater with a large great white shark who was trying to eat his catch of the day. Great whites are seldomly seen in Hawaiian waters.
This one which was about 16 ft long was wounded and very hungry. It turned on diver Mark Barville, who managed to scare it off. “I used every technique I knew to scare the shark away. It was impervious to my yelling underwater, screaming, and hitting it with my gun. The head of the shark was utterly enormous, and I knew I was in trouble. It was like seeing a dinosaur.”
